Where’s Waldo?

My second and last remix assignment was one that involved the famous “where’s waldo”?

Like my last remix assignment I wanted to go back in and remix an assignment I have already participated in. This in my opinion is easier than creating a new assignment and remixing it at the same time. I could see myself getting confused by this. By remixing my old assignments I can see how see how they can further be developed or reworked.

With that I remixed a design assignment I did towards the middle of the semester. The assignment was called charity ad, it asked that you create a real or fake add for a charity. The ad I initially made was for my secret agent, Juliet Stones, childhood cancer foundation she is apart of. I made this through canva which is such an easy graphic design website to use. In my blog post regarding this assignment I talk about the template, graphics, images, colors, fonts, etc. used. Similarly I share the inspiration and storytelling within it.

Check out my original charity ad!

I was really proud of the work I originally created and I felt it could be remixed in a fun way. When I took to the remix button I wasn’t sure what to expect, that being said I was pleasantly surprised and excited with what I was given. The remix generator assigned me this

Where’s Waldo? It.
For this remix assignment, you want to place Waldo somewhere conspicuous in a Visual or Design Assignment or slip his name quickly into an audio assignment. If you can figure out a way to make this work for Video, God Bless You.

This seemed like a pretty basic, however fun remix. I love “Where’s Waldo” books and have looked through so many in my younger years. I felt this would be a fun way to spice up my charity ad. So with that I took to the internet and downloaded a “Where’s Waldo” picture so that I could import it to canva. Then I went back into my original ad to make the changes necessary so this assignment could be remixed.

I tried to put Waldo in a conspicuous place where it would be hard to see him, but my options were limited. I felt I did a good job at placing him into my original work. It’s fairly likely you will be able to find, but give it a try yourself!

I have loved partaking in the two remixes this week and certainly can say I know a bit more about what a remix is. I hope to do a couple more in the future!
